The 2009 American Le Mans Series began earlier today, with its annual Winter test today at Sebring. A number of new machines made their debut including the stunning new Acura LMP1 car, with some very interesting aerodynamics and form.
The new Rahal-Lettermann run BMW M3 E92 Coupe also made its first 2009 appearance.

There's a new Porsche? I thought they were pulling out.
R15 coverage asap PLEASE Andy! haha
ha ha, when it appears (which will be just before Sebring)
ya, i really wanna see some stuff on the R15 aswell, the new acura's are pretty awsome aswell
i think i'm most excited about the new Porsche though
Porsche 997 has been updated, doesnt look much different, but its quite different in detail, cockpit, ride height etc. RS Spyder is gone (unless someone turns up with a privateer entry, which is unlikely due to cost)

Thanks Andy. Lots more pics on the way tomorrow -- many of the BMW beneath the skin, and a few incredible shots courtesy of (and exclusive for right now) from Patron Highcroft Acura. Best livery in years, I think. what about you?
Yeah, thanks Marshall. Patron livery is really great. Works really well, although it would be better without Acura blue.
.
That new Acura has to have incredible cornering and braking potential with all that aero and a non staggered wheel & tire package.
I didnt catch Malaria when I looked at it either, so the sticker doesnt lie.
cypher09 - yeah, interesting that its using rear tyres at the front....
