Event>>msc Challenge Rd. 6 At Sekia Hills

The most recent round of our beloved MSC Challenge series was held earlier this month at Sekia Hills on Japan's southern island of Kyushu. Hardcore drift fans are probably familiar "Driving Enjoy Club" Sekia Hills and its hilly, tree-lined circuit which is one of the home courses for Kyushu drivers like Ken Nomura and Katsuhiro Ueo. Sekia is known as one of, if not the best courses for grassroots drifting in Japan and naturally the Kyushu MSC competitors showed the sort of drifting that makes MSC so great. Besides being known as fantastic drivers, the folks in Kyushu are also known for having very stylish drift cars.

Now let's see a few event pictures from the official MSC photographer.

I'm liking this dark blue S13 One-via from drift car specialists RYO.

This zenki S14 Silvia from Team GLIDE came out on top in the Expert Class. The wheels look to be Advan RS's and they add a cool look to this car's relatively simple exterior styling.

The AE86 is always represented well down in Kyushu and this Trueno from K'raft finished third overall in the top level Super Class. The 86 seems to be a great partner for the course at Sekia Hills as anyone who has seen Ueo driving there can attest.

This white S14 has an old school look to it with its Advan T6 wheels. This local car also happened to take the win in the Beginner Class.

Good style on this kouki S14 that took third place in the Expert Class.

Check out this S13 pulling the front passenger side wheel off the ground. Also take a look at the driver in this photo and you can get a sense of how aggressive he was driving.

I was quite surprised to see that this signal S15 is sporting Formula D entry decals. Anyone know if this is an-ex FD car? I know Kenji Yamanaka is driving a Signal/Showup S15 but it's different from this car.

This was the fight for victory in the Super Class with the Signal S15 matching up against the C33 Laurel from Garage Scramble.

In the end it was Scramble's Laurel that defeated the Silvia to take the win. Judging from the photo, it looks like this car had some serious angle.

And let's finish with a shot from the ever popular Triple Class. These cars are from the aptly-named Club D-Friends and they came in second place behind the cars from Red Ribbon which are seen in the opening photo of this post.

Just yout typical fantastic MSC action as usual.

Now that's real drifting! Love the MSC, reminds me of what D1 used to be.

DEC always has tons of URAS clad cars.

The first car is a 180SX and was not built by RYO. In fact RYO doesn't actually build cars. They're a graphic shop with an owner who "designs" bad ass cars but contracts all the work out to other shops around Hiroshima.

The car was originally driven/built by a member of Ultra Groover named Mihune who is supported by RYO. The work was done by a shop called Reussir. I believe he actually sold the car not that long ago to Takeshi from Crazy Night who was behind the wheel of it at this event.

Red Ribbon OWNS Sekia. It's they're home course and they defend it well. Koga is their top guy and he drives the red S13 with the Uras GT kit. He's an amazing driver and tuner as well. He owns a shop called Gun Sports.
